Course Tittle: MATHEMATICS INSTRUMENTATION WORKSHOP (EdSci110)
Course Pre-requisites: NONE
Course Credit: 3 units
Course Description
The course deal with the foundations in utilizing laboratoryequipment related to mathematics. It covers the use of apparatuses and other possible hands-on activities necessary to prove ideas of improvisation and design of sample gadgets for classroom activities. The course will integrate the use of technology with accompanying activity sheets on Numbers, Measurement, Algebra, Trigonometry, and statistics.
Course Objectives
Upon successful completion of this course, a future teacher will be able to:
1. Discuss the functions and importance of utilizing gadgets for effective and efficient teaching-learning process.
2. Appreciate and understand the other possible hands-on activities for reinforcement or remediation.
3. Showcase interactive production mathematical software/programs/tools/activities as application of this subject.
Course Requirements:
1. Regular attendance and active participation -10%
2. Demo teaching -10%
3. Midterm/Final Examination (written) -30%
4. Math Research Presentation w/ ppt (oral & written) -20%
5. Showcase of Interactive Math Presentation (culmination) -30%
